Why spin for a genre and not a title
Picking one film out of thousands is hard. Picking one out of the twenty or so heist movies you could stream tonight is easy. The wheel narrows the choice to a category, and then you browse just that row on whatever service you use. Most couples and roommates find the argument ends the moment the wheel decides.
The 30 entries are a mix of classic genres like western and horror, and moods that streaming menus use, such as feel-good comedy or coming of age. There's a holiday movie slice too, which comes in handy in December. Nothing on the list is a franchise or a specific title, so it stays useful year after year.
If someone in the group can't stand horror or musicals, delete those before you spin. It's fairer to remove the vetoes first than to spin again until you get your own pick.

Using the wheel on movie night
- Let everyone strike one genre they won't watch, and delete those in Entries.
- Press Spin once. The result is final, no take-backs.
- Each person suggests one film from that genre, then spin a new wheel with just those titles if you still can't agree.

Why doesn't the wheel list actual movies?
Because availability differs by service and country, and a list of titles goes stale fast. Genres don't. Once you have one, type a few titles you can actually stream into a new wheel and spin again.
Can I make a wheel of our watchlist instead?
Yes. Clear Entries, paste the titles from your list, one per line, and add a title like "Our watchlist". It will be saved under My wheels in this browser.
Is it good for a weekly movie club?
It works well. Turn on Remove each winner from the wheel right away in Settings and the genre you watched drops off, so the club works through the whole list over the months.
What if we land on something nobody wants?
Agree on one free respin per night before you start. If people keep skipping the same genre, that's a sign to delete it for good.
Can kids use this wheel?
For a family night, remove horror, slasher, thriller and war movie, and keep animated, family movie, fantasy and musical. That leaves a solid list where any result is fine for younger viewers.
